That's a good point.

My only concern is we were short a pick coming into the draft thanks to Fuhrer Goodell and had too many other needs
I understand that, but are you truly addressing a need in the fifth round in most cases? By round 5 it's almost exclusively BPA (or should be anyway). I can't imagine Payton not having one of these QBs in his top 250 players.

I know its not a popular choice around here, but I would love of try picked up Wilson

Drafting qbs and grooming would add tremendus short term and long term value to our club
Undoubtedly true. But switching to a new defense, coming off the worst defense ever, having a WR corps that might need some more depth, and having Drew have at least a FEW more seasons of elite to top 10 play, and this would be THE YEAR to start grooming Drew's replacement? Payton is the only one who can answer that and with guys like Barkley, Wilson, Nassib and Bray out there the price might be just right. I just think, which doesn't mean a whole lot, that they have other much more pressing needs.

+1
Does anyone know what next years QB class looks like?

I'm totally on board with that. QB was another position where I kind of just flipped a coin. I'd be okay if they drafted any of the guys I listed.

Wilson just seems to have that killer instinct to me.

Bridgewater
Manziel
Tahj Boyd
The only one that MIGHT be a fit would be Boyd
Meh

After reading thru the posts, I think you've all got me 100% on board with Wilson. I always thought he was a stud at Arky. I'd like to see his name called today when we pick

Dont forget Landry Jones and Zac Dysert too! So there should be a decent QB available in the 5th.

3636. 24/6 in 2011 with a beast RB.
3387 21/13 under a shite coach and shite system
I just think he takes a hit because of Smith. Kid flourished with Petrino

If the Saints were to select Wilson or Barkley I would be happy with that. It would tell me that they feel fine with what they currently have for this to be a serviceable defense.
Trading up to get Jenkins said a lot to me.

I'd say Rogers at WR might have the most impact left, but has maybe the worst attitude of the bunch, and is thus the most unlikely. We have precisely 1 "the man" on offense here, and that's Brees. Every other skill position guy is someone grateful to be playing (Colston, Moore, Graham, Henderson when he was here, etc), and that's what keeps it working.
QB isn't a bad idea; like others note, it's a way to get more picks in the future. Nassib, Wilson or Bray would become future 2nds after a couple of years in Payton's training... or maybe Brees' successor.
I'm cautious with the Alabama lineman; he had a lot of extreme talent around him. He may be no more than a scrub. Or, he may be a steal. Providing depth along the line (if he can play decently) would be a big bonus, allows us to sign other positions.
I think we're set at LB this season. Let's see how Wilson, Butler and Gallette do before going after more players there.

Yeah I'm not interest in Rogers at all. Dude is a thug POS.

QB, LB and I would be very happy with this draft. Addressing 4 needs and grooming a QB. Could not ask for more.

Yeah if we draft Jones I hope we get some SEC refs to come with him.
