Let's be real, we need better safety play

I was all for drafting Jones but if they think we need better secondary play, I'm ok with it. The coaches are obviously ok with our edge pass rush. Anything that has the potential to improve the defense is fine with me. I'm just trying to be optimistic....

Most fans had such a high value placed on Jones that its more of a disappointment for not getting him than it is a knock against Vaccaro

safeties are not worth much

Well said. The current safeties strike fear into no one.

We need help in all units: D-line, LB, and DB.
This is an instant upgrade. Guy should be very solid. I'm not upset with the pick at all (kind of saw it coming). There were a lot of teams behind us that would have loved to scoop up Vaccaro very soon after us.
For all we know, Saints could have had Jarvis completely red-flagged from their draft board. Who the hell knows how they graded out his spinal stenosis. I felt if Jets passed on him with their second pick, chances are we might too. And we did.

You are correct.
Our two safeties (Harper Jenkins) were graded out to be the worst in the NFL last year.
They helped lead the Saints def. to a historic level of crappiness.
Its no wonder they thought to correct this.
