The lower margins may hurt a bit but as less revenue was from devices than in the past maybe not...
I know, it will be interestng when they resume... Good earnings, as expected, but same thing can be said at the end of last year...
I have no money on the line and I am nervous...

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Apple Inc. reported an 18% drop in earnings for its second fiscal quarter on Tuesday afternoon, though the results came in slightly ahead of Wall Street's estimates. For the period ended March 30, Apple reported net income of $9.5 billion, or $10.09 per share, compared to net income of $11.6 billion, or $12.30 per share, for the same period last year. Revenue grew 11% to $43.6 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $9.97 per share on revenue of $42.3 billion, according to FactSet. Apple's gross margin for the quarter was 37.5% - at the low end of the company's forecasted range from January. Apple's shares were halted in after-hours trades, as the company also announced a raised dividend and share buyback plan.

I'm more looking forward to Boeing's announcements tomorrow... I actually have skin in that game.

As APPL has kept falling, I have continued to price down to the point that I feel a little over allocated. I wouldn't mind some good news in this one.

During Apple's Q2 investor call, CEO Tim Cook teased "the potential of exciting new product categories," and suggested that the company will announce new products in the fall. "We've got a lot more surprises in the works," Cook said. "Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce in the fall and into 2014. We remain very confident in our product plan." Cook said that there will be "really great stuff coming in the fall and across all of 2013."
Apple's CEO wouldn't name specifics, but if earlier reports pan out, one of those surprises could be a wristwatch running iOS. The comments came following Apple's promising second quarter report in which the company posted a profit of $9.5b on revenues of $43.6b — right in-line with Apple's expectations from last quarter. "Decline in Apple's stock price over the last couple quarters had been very frustrating to all of us, but Apple remains strong," Cook said. "The most important objective at Apple will always be creating the most innovative products."

It's already back below it's close for the day, which I expected.
A few years ago, it did the same thing, but actually beat earnings and increased on the previous year's 2nd quarter revenue. It popped about $15-$20 dollars in after hours and then settled until the end of the summer before starting its rise from $350 to $700.
The only difference is the buy-back offer. It's a wildcard.
