Is there any chance we see as exceptional of a pocket passer as Jamarcus anywhere in the near future? As a program are we always doomed to have average to below average scrambling QB's under Les Miles? No recruit in his right mind with Jamarcus' type of QB skill would even set foot on LSU's campus if they have the NFL in their thoughts. This is all my opinion of course.

I see you haven't been following recruiting. We just signed 2 highly talented and touted QBs.

Jennings hasn't even stepped on the field yet. I'm talking someone who will come here and actually produce and go on to the next level. He may be next in line however with les miles nothing can be put past him to turn a 4* into a 1* at the end of 4 years.

WTF? That mythical person who will come here and produce hasn't stepped on the field yet either.

Hayden Rettig was rated higher than Jamarcus coming out of high school.

A stupid one at that.

So it cant be Jennings because he hasnt played, but you want us to project how good someone, who isnt even committed here, will do?

You mean a 6'6" QB with about as strong an arm as you can get, that was accurate enough and a good enough decision maker to go #1 in the NFL draft? Probably not...

No, besides JJ I am not sure who you are referring to. We may not get another jamarcus but we are certainly capable of having a good pocket passer sometime in the future.

Well Jamarcus type QB skill is very rare, but if your just trying to say that a very highly touted QB recruit would never want to come to LSU, then your just wrong. Rettig was a huge recruit. Why wouldn't they want to come? You have a chance to compete for a championship every year, some of the best WRs and OL in the country, to go along with a former NFL coordinator and head coach as your QB coach

QB is our toughest position to recruit and this will likely continue.
Arguably the biggest difference between Ala and LSU has been their run of instate QB's vs us scrambling to get what we can from anywhere. This scrambling was on display when Kiel backed out and cost us the big tackle that now starts at Auburn. The recruiting staff did a very good job getting Rettig and Jennings in here. Mett being a Sr. was a big factor as these two guys weighed their options.
Big time, 5* QB's do not want to come to LSU or Alabama. They want to be the focal point of the offense. U can not blame Miles for this. Saban hasnt started a 5 star guy either in quite a while.
Until we get a big time in state QB this will continue to be our biggest recruiting hurdle.
It doesnt look like 2014 will have an instate QB either. Is there anybody out there for 2015 or 2016 to get excited about?

It is amazing how much people's opinions are shaped by the fact that one gifted quarterback, Ryan Perrilloux, could not behave myself. We are only now beginning to emerge from that.

Of course he does.

He's like the rest of the vocal majority of Tigah Nation in that he wakes up in the morning looking for things to blame on Miles.
