Stephen A. did an article like this a few years ago and you could tell it really hurt him to write the article because he loves the guy. AI was into the Detroit casinos for a bunch of money during his short stint here.
I seem to remember a story from a teammate who rented or bought AI's house. AI left garbage bags of cash in the house. The teammate tried to return the money and AI was like "don't worry about it."

For a couple years, Stephen A. Smith's sole purpose was to give up Allen Iverson updates. It was awesome.
I really do feel bad Iverson though. He grew up without money, and he really does not understand it. I wish some players could have their money controlled, but I know they would never accept that. There is far too much pressure from outsiders and "family" trying to catch part of their quick fortunes.
The future pro athletes need college courses on money management. They need to be learning that, not having Joe Blow write their essays for them.
