The SEC and B1G are at 14, 16 is a number that makes more sense. The best options are in the ACC and clearly the ACC knows it. In my derpy opinion, UNC is/was the key. As long as they stayed, even if 4 or 5 others (VT, NCSU, FSU, CU, GT) left, the ACC would have remained viable. They could have added teams, UConn the most obvious and survived.
