I had a longterm girlfriend in high school that I found attractive and who I had sex with quite often. I lacked any deep romantic or emotional feelings toward her though. Same with every other girl I dated in my life. That's the difference in your jail scenario. These guys aren't becoming romanticly involved with each other.
