Raph Rhymes has no chance of getting drafted in the first 10 rounds.

I understand that completely. I was just trying to make the point that if he is drafted there, it is because he took very little money. If a team calls a college sr and says "will you take $10,000 to go 6th round" the kid jumps on that. He can say he was drafted 6th round, the team just saved $250,000 that they can give to someone else who is demanding more money.

The Blue Jays did it last year. They drafted college seniors (one from Nich St) with their 4th and 5th round picks last year. Neither kid was top 10 caliber, but they signed for $5-10k each. That saved the Blue Jays over $500,000 in 'extra' slot money that they could give to Anthony Alford and they're other high profile, high $ demanding draftees.

Does that make any sense?
