I grew up hunting ducks in Lousiana. Since i have moved to Georgia, I have had to take up deer and turkey hunting with the lack of birds in the northeast section of the state. Before this season, I had only turkey hunted one other time.

When i was in 4th grade, my dad got invited to go on some private land in Port Gibson, Miss. He got tired of trying to chase one down with the guide, so he took me back to a field right behind the camp, and sure enought the one with the 12 inch beard and inch and quarter spurs came walking out and i got him. He is mounted on the wall at my house.

I had never been again since that day until this year. Season opened bout three weeks ago, and my neighbor has some property up the road from out houses. And I just happened to luch up and get that one this weekend. Pure luck. Like i said if i had had a sling on my gun never would have gotten a shot off.

Looking forward to going this weekend and trying to get one of the other two that we know are out there
