The KKK hood scene was the best part of the movie.

Christoph Waltz

Went to his IMDB page. Can't read most of his filmography. But that guy is solid.

Him and Michael Fassbender should do a lot of movies together. Foreign actors can pull off an American role no problem, but American actors can rarely pull that off. Best I've seen is Kevin Kline in French Kiss.

The only thing wrong with Waltz would be that he plays a German. Duh in IB, but he played a German in America two years prior to the Civil War in Django. Fine, but how many times can they go to that well? I honestly don't care, he's that entertaining.

Oh. I haven't seen Django, so I just assumed he played a southerner considering the movie.

The german pub scene with Fassbender in IB is up there for me as best movie scene ever.

You liked the German pub scene more than the opening scene? That opening scene was some of the best movie watching I've ever seen...I'm not a movie critic or anything, I just know I was glued to it.

I almost couldn't watch that scene, it was so intense. Tarantino movie opening scene, plus how much hype Landa had gotten.........I knew something gritty was about to happen.

The scene in the pub was equally intense because I absolutely didn't see that coming for those characters.

I don't think so. I go to movies by myself. I haven't seen The Avengers yet so I don't know what the frick the New York reference meant. I guess that's next on my agenda.

That subtle detail of how Germans show the number three was great.

I googled right away.

Absolutely has to be. I'm not a superhero movie junkie, but that one is amazing.

And to answer your earlier question about Tarantino's cameo in Basterds,
quote:

Yes. Tarantino keeps his tradition of giving himself a small role in his films. In fact, he appears twice. First, he appears as one of the scalped German bodies when the Basterds are introduced, and later appears as a soldier in "Nation's Pride," the movie being shown at the theater at the end. Nation's Pride was directed by Eli Roth, who appears as Donnie. When Landa chokes Hammersmark, the POV of Landa's hands around her neck is actually Tarantino's hands.

Well that cheeky basterd.

Is she just nervous, or did she realize he had screwed up?

Probably realizes he screws up, then gets nervous. Hellstrom makes the entire scene tense as soon as he enters.
