what type of grass do you have? If it is centipede, don't do it. Centipede needs very little fertilizer and many a centipede lawns have been destroyed by over fertilizing

many a centipede lawns have been destroyed by over fertilizing

You need to listen to this.

I fertilized centipede real hard one spring. I had the greenest grass in town. It is currently pine straw.
