re: Tony Cingrani

Everything I read say his fastball is unhittable, but his secondary pitches are not great. I could see him get out to a hot start and then the mlb hitters will catch on.

Secondary pitches aren't great. He's still developing them.

Valid comparison, although I think rosenthal is more polished and has the higher ceiling.

Only thing is he throws his fastball 90% of the time

If true, I don't see this ending well.

Good first start and W for the man, but it is the Marlins...

Useable for sure but 102 pitches to get thru that team in 5 is a bit of a red flag.
His fastball is sneaky good and his slurvy curveball can be thrown for strikes but the command of his change leaves little to be desired at this point. As the league sees him firsthand, I think he'll get hit especially as the weather warms up.

Still a good looking pitcher and I am thinking about using him vs the scrubs next start

re: Tony Cingrani

So would you try to package and sell him in a dynasty league after this stellar week? He is averaging over 1.5K/IP, and of course he won't keep up this current ERA pace, but what are you thinking his floor will be? Also, will the Reds keep him in the rotation with Cueto coming back?

I honestly think he will be fine. I am hoping the Reds do something else with Leake. I mean Leake has been decent, but Cingrani has been frickin awesome

I don't know, Baker had a quote from earlier this week that didn't sound too good for Cingrani.............

re: Tony Cingrani

The best way to handle this IMO is going with a 6 man rotation.

Reds just listed leake as the starter for Tuesday.

That settles that.

I hope he really does work on secondary pitches when he goes back down.
