How terrible is NBA officiating?

If you need any evidence of how the superstars get all the calls, a ref called a foul on the defender because Kobe blew his achilles. It just shows the ref's incompetence. Kobe goes down, so he must have been fouled. Of course, we all know now why he went down. Obviously he wasn't fouled.

This and the most blatant thing they do that pisses me off is they will never give a foul to a star player on defense.

If the media tags someone with "superstar" player status, the refs automatically afford that player an extra step or two to travel.
Also, for every close call that could be a charge or a block, the ref will give it to said player.
