How do you feel about Al Jefferson?

I feel we need to go after a max or close to max level player this offseason. Big Al is a player we can throw the ball into in the post and just let him go to work. I believe he should be our number two option on the board after a certain point guard out west.

How do you feel about Big Al? If not him, how would you like to spend the money we have free this offseason?

I've been a big Al Jeff fan for a while. He's the best offensive big in the league IMO and would be a great fit alongside Davis. He's probably my favorite FA target this year.

I'd rather Pekovic. I think Minnesota is less likely to match anyway for Pek, than Utah is for Jefferson. I also remember reading an article on here not too long ago that showed something about Utah being a better team when Jefferson wasn't on the floor.

Honestly, no one. I don't think we should blow our load just because we have the money. We should continue to take a measured approach. Our window isn't for at least another 2 years.

However, I would rather Pek than AlJeff as well.

True, but it really depends on how Demps valuates the current crop of FAs.

If he sees someone like Pekovic as a long-term fit at C, I don't mind taking a run at him.

That makes Lopez and/or Smith expendable as far as trading to fill other needs, such as a backup guard or a starting 3.

I'd bet on danman buying an Eric Gordon jersey before I'd bet on CP3 returning.

No.

He demands a level of control over the roster, both in his last seasons here and in LA, that make it a pain in the arse to deal with him.

I didn't like the idea of LeBron playing GM in Cleveland then leaving them high and dry nor CP3 doing it with us, so I don't want him back.

i actually wouldnt mind him if we got him for like 10 mil a year for like 3 to 4 years I think it would take the pounding off AD, give him some help down low, allow him to polish his game without trying to rush things

Id be a big fan if we got Pek or Jefferson especially at the right price and if we are not handcuffed financially moving forawrd

Al Jefferson is going to command big money in the offseason and some team with loads of cap space will give it to him (*cough* Dallas). I honestly hope it's not us. I'd rather load up on depth and develop our talent than blow a huge wad of cash on an overpaid big that doesn't play defense, especially considering that once we pay AD in a few years, we're pretty much stuck with what we have when he extends if someone like Jefferson is on a 4-5 year/13-15 per season deal.

What is it going to take to get Pek? 4/44?

I honestly expect that to be on the lower end considering they have to make it high enough for Minn to shy away from it.

Minny may have his Bird rights and be allowed to match a big offer, but they're in a bit of a pickle from a cap perspective considering they are trying to keep Love happy.

They're looking at $52m in contracts for next year before Pekovic (RFA), Budinger (RFA), Stiemsma (Team option), and Cunningham (Team option) are dealt with, assuming AK47 picks up his $10m player option.

If they go above the cap, they're pretty much standing pat with the current roster give-or-take a MLE offer to someone.

It's going to come down to keeping Pekovic now or worrying about how to put a team together with Love, Pekovic, and Rubio making about $50m combined in a few seasons.
