Start Matt Harvey Saturday or Pettitte, Ervin Santana, AND Roy Halladay Sunday?

Matt Harvey is playing tomorrow. Starting him would put me at 5 starters for the week.
OR I could wait and start all three of the others on Sunday.
Which would you do? Harvey has been dominant so far but thats 3 against 1.

I'd start Harvey against anyone. Don't really care who the opponent is. The only other option to consider is Pettitte and the other two can kick rocks. You have no idea what the other two will do on a week to week basis.

The thing is though on ESPN leagues, as long as you havent used all your pitching spots by Sunday, you can start as many as you want. So I could start all 3 of those guys on Sunday OR just start Harvey on Saturday and be done.

Well color me confused. Since you can start all three Sunday, it tells me there's no inning cap or GP cap. Why is it that you can only do one or the other?
Weird settings is weird.

No there is a GP cap. Its just that it doesn't add each pitchers game toward the cap until the next day and since Sunday is the last day of the matchup, you can sneak extra pitchers in on the last day and they all count.
So that's my decision. Will Harvey get more points that Pettitte, Santana, and Halladay combined?

I see... an exploited loophole. Still, the setting are weird dude.
Being a points league, you're going to need to project out their numbers. Let's say Matt Harvey goes 7 innings, 2 ER, 9 K's, etc. How much will that get you? Now do the same with the other 3 and add them together. Which gives you more? Go with that. I suggest you conservatively project the other 3 stats. No way to definitely tell you without knowing the exactly settings of how your league points are scored.

No I agree the settings are weird. I didnt set it up.
Just a snapshot:
Harvey has averaged 30.5 over 2 starts.
Halladay: average of -9 over 2 starts
Santana: average of 16 over 2 starts
Pettitte: average of 20.5 over 2 starts.
Also, Halladay will be facing the worst offense in MLB, Miami.

While Hallday has a favorable matchup, he's been struggling. Santana who is extremely HR prone faces a powerful BlueJay squad though struggling. Pettitte faces a hot hitting Orioles squad. While you may have more potential with the 3 pitchers for total points, there's an equal amount of bust potential with all 3 starters.
So the question here is that do you need the possibility of the extra points to win this week? If you're up and comfortable, go the safe route with Harvey. If not, swing the other way.

Good analysis man! Thanks a ton! Im up 145-112 right now with 4/5 pitchers used compared to 3/5 for my opponent.
Leaning toward Harvey I think.

No problem. I'm sure if your hitters tonight rake, it'll make your decision a little easier.
