At 33, Theriot has not walked away from baseball. He still wants to play, but on his terms.

He is that rare player who is capable of continuing his career for several more years but ready to hang it up if he is not offered a job with significant playing time. "I've had some stuff come up, no doubt. It's not really exactly what I'm looking for playing-time-wise. That's where we're at right now. We'll see what happens."
