More knowledgeable about what exactly? General golf knowlege or how to act? I'd dispute the latter.

Knowledgable? No. There are a bunch of know it all annoying types there. But respectful? Absolutely. The fear of losing your badge will do that.

Right. Now, in the one experience I had there, people just knew how to behave just like you know how to behave in church. You didn't see some drunk in flip flops yelling stupid shite like you do at regular tour events.

Exactly. I saw one guy once who was reaaaallly drunk and stumbled into an older lady and knocked her over. He didnt notice and kept on going. Not 10 seconds later two gentlemen walked up next to him and locked elbows and they disappeared into the woods. I like to think that guy ended up becoming fertilizer and sand.

General golf .. Check out their reactions to certain shots .. They know what a good shot is and react accordingly ..


Quick story about Bill Rodgers (the 1981 open champion) .. He is playing a practice round one year with Nicklaus and Watson. They get to a par three Watson blasts on over the green, Rodgers hits and ball disappears and they assume it's over the green and Nicklaus comes up short of the green ... They get the the green and rogers can not find his ball ...

He walks over to where Watson's ball is and asked a man in the crowd if he happened to see where his ball ended up?

The man says, "yes sir. I fancynit went in the hole!"

Rodgers says, "really, I did not hear a roar from the gallery?"

The man says, "ah, but is only Tuesday!"
