I was hoping that Peterson would birdie an early hole so that his name would be on top of the leaderboard at the Master's. There's still a chance.

He had 9 straight pars in the par three contest. He lives around E.

Big time. I think he would be very, very happy with an E week.

Ah, a big fan of the David Sims school of golf.

David Toms birdies the par 4 third and goes into an 8 way tie for the lead.

Yep.

Peterson is a consistent, slow tortoise. He hits fairway after fairway and shoots 70 after 70. Not the most exciting, but damn I wish I had his game

Andrew Loupe, his LSU counterpart and close friend of mine, is a bit different. He either shoots 63 or 78. Very exciting, but it is taking him longer to make a splash on the PGA.

With Peterson's consistency, he should make the PGA tour next season. He is currently 18th in Web.com Tour (2nd league). I think the top 60 or so qualify for the PGA.

Toms has two bogeys in a row after a birdie at three. Needs to turn things around.

And Peterson gets his 8th straight par. Stays even thru 8.

I'm looking forward to a great showing by both of them. JP will be on the PGA within the next few seasons I guarantee it. Dude can play!

Peterson Pars 9 also. If you include the par 3 contest, Peterson has 18 straight pars at Augusta. The kid is solid.
