If I owned a stock that traded at $266 and $101.50 in the same day before settling at $187 i would need a new pair of underwear and a pooper scooper for my fiance

im sorry, but I'd prefer to have a currency that doesn't lose half its value in a day.

Better chance of that if he mined for gold in Alaska.

I have serious problems with the USD, but rolling my wealth into the 21st Century's tulip bulb is worse.

I'll buy ammo instead.

100 bucks (the low) means bitcoin gained 2.5X it's value in a week.

Wiki--has the price of goods/services (in bitcoins) dropped dramatically over the past month? Or are the people who hold the bitcoins cashing them out for USD or hoarding them, and not using them for transactions?

Most businesses that offer goods and services for bitcoin are priced in USD (or local fiat) and converted in real time via an API call to a major exchange, so the exchange rate is somewhat irrelevant to those merchants, especially if they use a service like BitPay that processes the transaction in bitcoin but gives them USD if they choose.

why does a rush of new investors cause a crash? Last I checked a flood of people buying a stock pushed it higher?
