BATON ROUGE, LA - Louisiana Feast of Fields: A Gastronomic Gala will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at
the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Students from LCI will be
preparing a 5 course menu featuring local Louisiana agricultural and fishery products, under the direction of Executive
Chef Ryan Andre’ of Le Creole’ (owned by Wayne Stabiler). The goal of the event is to showcase the quality and variety
of products available from Louisiana farmers to local chefs, with the hope to inspire a relationship between the two.
Speaker will be Dr. Mike Strain of L.D.A.F., Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
During reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. student chefs from LCI will team up with farmers and fishermen to
showcase products that will be used in the menu. There will be appetizer stations during the event that will allow the
local farmers and fishermen to pair up with the chefs and showcase their products to the guests. Donner Peltier
Distillery is providing Louisiana rice Vodka and Sugar Cane Rum for Signature Cocktails during reception. Wine pairings
will be provided for most courses of the dinner menu with one surprise beer pairing. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m.
and feature the following menu, based around local Louisiana food products.

Sounds like it will be a great time. Unfortunately I'll be out of town. How much will the event cost per person?

Sounds cool, but not for $65 a head.

Yeah, it's steep. But really a good cause, and it should be a good time.
