As of 2 days ago i was set on the sig p938 equinox. Went to academy to pick one up and they just had the display gun "which i did not want". So i have ran across a kimber solo now for only $50 more than the sig was going to cost me.. whats the ob say?

I've shot both, I prefer the sig out of those two.

You know I own the Sig. That being said the plastic trigger in it is quite sharp. The Solo's trigger appears to be steel. Go handle them both and see which one you prefer.

You found a Solo for under $1000?

Never mind, I saw you can get them for under $700. Not sure why I thought they were over a $1000.

why? just asking

ive read some of the sigs have ejecting probs and also heard about the trigger being rough on the hand.. i hadnt shot it but just wondering.

the kimber doesnt have the crimson trace.. but i can get it $750 with extra magazine while i can gey the sig for $700 and one magazine. personally i just thought the kimber would be better, but again i hadnt shot either

No offense, but I thought you were a little ambitious when you were trying to decide which 238 to pick up from Academy - they're damn tough to find around here. That said, I would rather have a 238 than a striker fired single action - which I'm not sure I totally understand.

Here's a TTAG review on the Solo: LINK

our academy here has just about any of those sigs in stock. i went yesterday afternoon and held the nightmare, extreme, and equinox. had all intentions on getting the equinox but all they had was the one on display.. which would have been fine if it wouldnt had had a small scratch on the slide. so i passed yest, and didnt want the other models. then i ran across the solo today and really like it

That's great. Mine had one 938 I nearly went with but got the call for an M&P Shield at a local shop instead.

i heard that.. i wouldnt even be having this conversation if that display equinox wouldnt had that scratch yest.. while it was very very small i wasnt paying that for a gun with a flaw and i ran into this kimber and kinda fell in love haha. so im undecided now!

Yeller, from what I've heard, the Kimber is very picky about ammo. The manufacturer even suggests using only 124gr or heavier ammo through it. Seeing as how almost all target ammo is 115gr, this thing would be expensive to shoot.

Then again, I've heard reports of it shooting that stuff fine. I would assume it'll just depend on the gun.

If it were me, I would rather buy something that I know will digest any type of ammo. My Kahr CM9 has chewed up and spit out every kind of ammo I have run through it and it was only about $400. But if you want something a bit more stylish, the ammo pricetag may be part of that.
