Who's to say 1 more year makes him NBA ready?

Not necessarily "NBA ready," but it's not a stretch to say that another developmental year with a college team (and much better players to practice with/against) would benefit his career in the long run.

Sorry, I just don't buy the struggling family argument. If its been that way for his entire life, then what is one more year?

i see what you are saying, but one more year to a kid thats what 21, is a long time, especially when he's seeing glimpses of dollar bills when he's never seen them before in his life.....even if it is only a salary of 80-100K per year to him thats probably enough to sway him

I would not trust Johnny when it comes to covering his tracks against the NCAA.

My point is if he makes $80,000 in Europe then he has to cover his living expenses, ect. That doesn't leave much left over to take care of his family.

He's staying. Strategic move by jones to have him announce and create a little more buzz around the program

You knew he had to announce either way. So hopefully the timing and everything is just an excitement ploy at this point.

It all depends on what his plans are.

If he wants to win, and I think he does as apparent when he apologized to Tiger Nation after his abysmal performance in the SEC tourney, then he will give it another season.

If he is more concerned about the almighty dollar, which would be worthless to him this year as I don't even see him being drafted, then he would go for the money.

Either way, I didn't think Justin Hamilton was gone but he rolled. As did Anthony Randolph. Only time will tell.

Is it 2pm yet?

That's what I'm hoping too.

Remember when Jones first came on last year, they made an announcement like once a week about either recruits or coaches being hired, or whatever they could to get LSU basketball into the news cycle. I'm hoping this is another part of that.

Keeping interest up in the offseason can really help the program progress.
