Brad Paisley & LL Cool J - Accidental Racist

This is the worst song I've ever heard. On the other hand there's at least a dozen epic one - liners.

Enjoy

Does Brad understand that West Virginia is not Southern? That their very existence relates to them not being Southern?

I feel so guilty for being white after listening to that inspirational song. Thanks, Brad and LL

I think this song could be summed up with one word:

WHY?

Just heard it and immediately came to this board to see the fallout. It has been accepted about like I thought it would. Terrible terrible terrible song. Sounds like LL Cool J stopped by Brad Paisley's house for a beer and after a case they decided it would be a good idea to record a song with Brad's kids toy recording set. It sounds amateurish to be honest. Maybe well intentioned, but definitely poorly done.

The music video should have Paisley in black face and LL in white face

It's terrifying that some people actually had respect for Paisley before this.

some good observations from The Atlantic

quote:

The assumption that there is no real difference among black people is exactly what racism is. Our differences, our right to our individuality, is what makes us human. The point of racism is to rob black people of that right. It would be no different than me assuming that Rachel Weisz must necessarily have something to say about black-Jewish relations, or me assuming that Paisley must know something about barbecue because he's Southern.
