Any news on when its coming back? Last I heard they finished wrapping up "shooting" in October of last year, and that it's supposed to be an all-star season.

I think the show was canceled completely, and it's probably for the best. History needs to get back to historical stuff and not some stupid reality television show.

Top Shot is a good show. I love seeing them show off the versatility of the contestants as well as seeing the gun selections in action. Excellent competitive show.

As per the wikipedia entry

History Channel has not made any official statement regarding the future of Top Shot. However, on May 19, 2012, host Colby Donaldson posted a message on Twitter saying "#TOPSHOT is comin' back BABY! Bring on the ALL STARS!". On following tweets, he mentioned that the new season would premier in early 2013. As of November 2012, the official website had contact information for shooters wanting to apply to appear on the next season. On October 16, Donaldson again offered an update on Twitter, writing that they "just finished filming Season 5", and that fans should stand by for air dates.

They probably scrapped it after the Newtown shooting rather than take heat from the PC police and media. I doubt they announced a complete cancelation since they had a season taped and thought down the road things would cool down enough for them to air it.

I was a fan of the show, an all-star show would have been a great way to end the series.

Show was interesting for the weapons. But that LittleJohn dude had no business making it to the finals against the IT nerd last season. What a joke. Hold on take my stupid bandana...to show our friendship.

That was some weird shite. But nothing irks me more than jake from season 3 and his beef with Superman.

Always been a big fan of the show, but I don't like the direction they have taken with casting a bunch of "regular joe" contestants who just like to shoot. The first season had some legit professionals, and it was much better, to me.

If I want to watch a bunch of ex-military guys and doomsday preppers shoot rifles, I'll go to my local shooting range.

Um, the winners of every season except the first one were "regular Joes" up against a bunch of "legit professionals". I think the beauty of the show was that you saw that just because some fricker has a badge or a uniform doesn't mean he's automatically Rambo. Great shooters can be found in all walks of life. Hell, by looking at the show's winners, "legit professionals" make up only 25% of the best shooters.

That's what I liked. I loved how the Asian golf instructor who was self taught went deep. I hope they don't do an All Stars show. That's just beating a dead horse when you get there. Also, I hate how they try to find the good looking girl that could shoot. The only one that was legit was the brazilian girl and she wasn't that cute. She could hold her own though.

What difference does it make what the person's background was? A shooter is a shooter and in order to make it even to the show, you have to be pretty damn good at basic weaponry.

Despite how easy they make it look, regular weekend warriors that go to the range once or twice a month have no chance on a show like that. A "regular joe" who shows up has put in many many hours of practice to reach that level of proficiency.

I enjoy seeing all the difference backgrounds and how they stack up.

I still can't believe JJ didn't win season 1.

Loved Top Shot. I've been wondering if and when a new season was gonna happen. Hopefully it happens soon. As annoying as some of the "characters" were, it was still a really cool show IMO.

And I agree on the "hot chick that can shoot" thing. That was pretty stupid.
