'Man of Steel' will redefine Superman's ability to fly

I don't know if any of you noticed, but this seems to be one of the more interesting developments of the movie.
It appears to me that Superman has an endless array of powers that he just has to learn how to use, and it is all tied into his super-strength. From the previews, it looks like he 'learns how to fly.'
The trailer shot i am referencing is when he is kneeling down and the atmosphere around the ground changes. This appears to be straight out of a scientific textbook involving inertia:
(1) The rocks and stuff begin to float. So Superman appears to be able to exert enough force on the downward vector of the earth's gravitational field, that it no longer has an effect on him (or the surrounding particles)
(2) He continues to exert this pressure until it starts reversing on himself (debris begins to fly upward, including his cape)
(3) And of course, since he is superman, he can multiply this force by 1000 times...thus fly.
I know this is gonna get a lot of "..." responses but it was really interesting to see that portion of the trailer deal with his flying ability.
Another explanation is that he just does something to his own inertia (becoming extremely light at will, yet still invulnerable)
i dunno

Uh, what
Well, here is an example! See, Thor flies because Mjolnir just pulls him in that direction (Thor on his own, cannot fly)
Superman flies because he is exerting great pressure against the earth;s gravitational field..and then some. The further he gets from the earth, the faster he should be able to go.
And in space, i'd imagine he can fly even faster than on earth.

I could be wrong about this, but didn't he have to lean to fly in the comics? If I remember right he was only able to "leap buildings in a single bound" and not fly in the beginning. I don't confess to be an expert though. This is just how I remember it.

Superman ain't real bro. The reason he can fly is because some guy 60 years ago drew him flying. Same with the laser eyes.

Duh. This whole movie is about 'realism' being added to the existing folklore/legend.

And if he and Lois Lane ever fricked, he would blow her brains out with his super jizz.
But who knows? They could be redefining the nature of his jizz too.

Yeah I really hope they touch on why his semen doesn't destroy Lois.

I think his semen does destroy Lois, but that he should do it anyway.

Same principle as Neo in The Matrix

You're reading way too much into it. They used the same type effect in Smallville,

That's why in the new 52 it's him and Wonder Woman. She can handle the jizz.
