The cost of gaming in $$

So I was curious and did some math and I have given Gabe $1,917.28 in the last five and a half years. Here is what I estimate I have spent on gaming including games and equipment the last 10 years. Most of these will be estimates.
Steam - $1,917
Other game sources - $1,500
MMO monthly fees - $1,500
Computers and equipment - $7,500
So roughly I spend about $1,200 a year on gaming, that's $100 a month, and $3 a day. So for the price of a Starbucks every day or one movie a week I have gotten thousands of hours of enjoyment.
Average Steam game purchase price is $13.60
If I average 20 hours a week gaming that is 10,400 hours, 433 days, or 1.18 years of game time. So I pay about $1 per hour to game.
I'm in accounting so yes I am a numbers nerd.

Just as I don't look at how much time I have spent playing a game, I don't dare to look at the impact on my wallet.
Ignorance is bliss.

I don't spend much money on gaming but
Time = Money
When Runescape came out with the adventurers log, it told you the number of days you had played.
Now when i say days, I don't mean membership time, I mean the actually time spent playing the game. 1 day being 24 hours.
It almost made me vomit when I saw how much time I had spent on Runescape between 2004 - 2008.
I still can't even type it for public ridicule.

Is a saying used out of context a lot.
What are you going to be doing at home on a weeknight that could earn you enough money to justify working?

Gaming saves me sooo much money. The amount i spend on a night stayin home gaming is a value compared to goin to the bar or even goin out to eat

I actually manage my weight better gaming. If in gaming I don't eat and snack like I do when I'm not
