Please, Dear God, don't tell me there are still people here who think Gays cannot get married.

Is that the point you are trying to make?

Louisiana Constitutional Amendment 1 (2004) limits marriage to man/woman, places restrictions on non-marriage types of same-sex unions Louisiana Civil Code article 89 prohibits persons of the same sex contracting a marriage. Louisiana Civil Code article 3520 bans the recognition of purported same-sex marriages from other states.

Doesn't appear that they can in Louisiana.

Well then, they should move somewhere where it's legal. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to stand your ground.

Of course they can. They can go to any gay friendly church in the state and get married right now. This very second.

I can't necessarily argue with that.

However he stated that the flamboyant parades and protests was the problem not what they do on their bedroom.

However if we allowed them their basic human right of marriage then we wouldn't have to see the protests would we?

It still baffles me that adults care what other adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom. Just give them what they want and go about your business. It'll make their life better without affecting yours at all so why not?

Gay marriage is not illegal in a single state in the Union as far as I'm aware.

And have none of the legal benefits that come with marriage. Don't be dense they don't want a ceremony they want to legally be a family.

No . . . . . that is very clearly NOT what they want.

Civil Union would have granted those rights. Gay activists have rejected Civil Union.

Oh yea that's right like black people occasionally have rallies. So do you hate black people too or do you just reserve your hate for people who get off in a different way than you do?

I agree with him on that. I really don't care that Johnny wants to frick whatever he chooses in his own privacy but bringing out in public view to make a statement is wrong.

I would like to think that the majority still rules and I firmly believe that the majority of people don't care about exhibitionism on the streets for all to see.

Which of those ""legal benefits"" is a same-sex couple unable to exercise vis-a-vis private wills and contracts currently?

Neither do I and offenders should be punished through public decency laws. I don't see how that has anything to do with them marrying

Recognition between states for starters

Recognition of same-sex couples between states? I'm not certain, but I'd assume two guys holding hands are as easily recognized as a same-sex couple in Louisiana as they are in Nebraska.

Then again, we were not talking about recognition. We were talking about ""legal benefits"" same-sex couples are unable to exercise vis-a-vis private wills and contracts.
