I've tried many times to figure out the logic in transfer valuations, I've decided that there is no rhyme or reason and I've stopped trying to figure it out Seems like small clubs regularly get raped for their players. Players from lesser known footballing nations almost always cost less than they should.

I'm still waiting for BVB to splash some of their new found riches. CE looks inevitable, but still no word. I read where they are using Sokratis as Piszczek's back up, what a joke.

Galatasaray are in negotiations with Schalke for the 8mm purchase of Jefferson Farfan. Schalke could probably get a little more for him, but it's clear they are fully dedicated to the youth movement. They also officially locked up Leon Goretzka, the 18 year old from Bochum.

Pisz is hurt, they should just put Großkreutz at right back.

Watzke kind of shrugged off the Eriksen talk so I don't know. They should buy Eriksen and Bernard for starters, IMO

A number of things go into driving the price up of English players. Some are justified, some aren't.

Homegrown rules, team morale, language, familiarity with the English game, relationship with the fans, etc.
