The newly acquired Chris Carter is....
0-11, 7 K's.
This is a professional big league hitter ladies and gentlemen. Professional.

The Rangers struck out the Astros 43 times in the whole series...I think its safe to say nobody was hitting well.

We struck out in more than half of our at bats.

Dis-Astros are 4th team in last 90 seasons with 15+ K in consecutive 9-inning games (2012 Pirates, 2002, Brewers, 1986 Mariners)

The MLB record for team strikeouts (offensive) is 1,529; the Astros are on pace to strike out 2,322 times this year.
It's ridiculously early, but let's not sell short the Astros' valiant attempt at making a run at history.

This won't be the only bad stat for the Astros this year. The media will have a field day digging up random poor stats on this team each week.

Another fun stat. The 43 Ks are the most for a 3 game series of the opening weekend, ever.
And Rangers pitchers had a strikeout in every inning of the series except for 1.
