LSU will have to sweep a few series against top competition in order to move back up in the RPI. LSU's RPI takes a hit every time they play Alcorn, Southern, Grambling, etc. Taking 2 of 3 games against SEC competition on the weekend offsets the negative hit from the midweek game. Basically, scheduling SWAC schools leaves LSU with only 1 path to a top 8 seed: win the SEC.

RPI consists of all games, thereore a game in April means just as much as a game in February or May
