Am moving to the Houston area and picked-up an Astro's pocket schedule. While looking over the “2013 Promotions & Events Schedule” I noticed there’s a: Cinco De Mayo Celebration on 5/5 and a Hispanic Heritage Celebration on 9/28 but nothing on Memorial Day (home game vs Colorado) or Independence Day (home game vs Tampa Bay).

The online site does list Memorial Day but doesn’t show any special celebration planned for it: Astros' 2013 Promotions & Events Schedule.

Cinco De Mayo is artificial but I’m good with a Hispanic Heritage Celebration – incredible pat of MLB. But why nothing for America? At this point, I’ll let the Cinco De Mayons and the Hispanics support the ‘stros.

Probably because celebrations on those days are a given.
