Anyone have any thoughts on My So Called Life?

Me and my roommate are in the process of trading off new shows, we just recently finished all 6 seaosons of LOST (my pick) and now we're starting My So Called Life. It's only 1 season so shouldn't take too long. We watched the first episode yesterday.
Anybody seen this have any thoughts/feelings/input on what I should expect? I know nothing at all about the show other than what I watched in the pilot. Is it good? Crappy?

lots of unpopular teen angst/high school drama

Yeah I get the sense from the Pilot it's going to be pretty dark. Not the typical high school drama with a lesson in every episode where everyone hugs it out at the end.
Did you enjoy it? I will say the only thing my roommate did mention about it was the the season (and series for the matter) ends on a cliffhanger, which pisses me off. I hate not having resolutions for stuff, especially if it's at the end of the damn series.
