I'm sure everyone agrees that if this team fails to reach Omaha it will be a huge disappointment but what if they go 0-2 at the CWS?

Do they need to at least reach the title series to consider this a successful season?

Easy hoss....it is only April 1. A lot could happen like injuries...and LSU hasn't even come close to playing the meat of the SEC schedule. Holler back in a couple of weeks after we have gone through Kentucky and Arkansas and let's compare notes again at that point.

Omaha would make this season a success imo......Pretty much a roll of the dice once we're there

The SEC opponents LSU has beaten to date are a combined 0-9 in SEC series. It is tough to predict how LSU will do in Omaha when we haven't seen them play someone who will be in Hoover.

Good points guys, I'll be patient

FYI
12 of the 14 SEC teams will get to Hoover

The 5-12 seeds play a 1 game single elim "playoff" that Tuesday, losers go home, winners move on and they have a traditional double Elim tourn.

No. I will only be happy if they can make it up to Sioux Falls.

No, if we lose another game we should just scrap the season and start over

Sounds like a country song.

No one will be disappointed with a trip to Omaha. It's the goal of every Div I team. Baseball being the weird sport it is, anything can happen once you get there.

No.

Winning the CWS won't even be enough.

At this rate, the NCAA will adopt a weird arse promotion/relegation policy just for us, and we'll be a AA ball club by 2016.

It's stupid because you finish in the top 8 but going 0-2 in Omaha is a very disappointing end to the season.

There is a TON of season left. That you think we are deserving of making the title game at this point shows you don't know how it works.

Am I the only one who in a strange way would like to see the team cool off a little bit for now? I'd prefer them to get smoking hot leading up to the SEC tourney. It's pretty hard for a team to stay hot for 60+ games and once the postseason starts if you cool down just a little over a 3 game stretch the season could be over. The 2000 team is a perfect example. The Tigers went on a 13-0 tear through the SEC tourney, regionals, Supers and Omaha to win it all. Fresno State got hot in '08 as a 4 seed and won it all as well. Timing is everything and starting off 25-2 means nothing if you can't pick up timely hits in the Supers and drop 2/3.
