I don't understand matchmaking at all. How do I get a gold 4 and Plat 5 duo against me in my Silver 1 promos? The mmr of both 'should' surpass mine. Yet there I was having to compete with a plat 5 and gold 4 just to get promoted to silver 1. Not to mention the rest of the other team was no lower than gold 5. I was the only Silver in the game. It makes no sense.

Was just about to come here to post this.

Some friends and I were just playing some team builder. I am the highest at Silver V, and we got pitted against a Plat V and 2-3 Golds in the second game.

Got rolled both times. I seriously don't understand how that is supposed to be even remotely fair to play against.

It seems like it would be really simple. Instead of complicating everything with mmrs, just use the division. Enough people play this game that they could very easily match up everyone within 1-2 divisions. It makes zero sense that I would have to compete against all gold teams to get promoted to Silver 1. If I'm trying to get into Silver 1, put me against Silver 1's. It's very simple logic. I mean, I won so I'm not complaining too terribly bad, but thinking about people who are on the cusp of their limit, it keeps people from reaching the max division they could be in because they are constantly fighting an uphill battle. It's never the opposite. It's never a bunch of silver 3's and 4's on the other team if you're trying to get into Silver 2. I just feel like they are trying to make what could very easily be a very simple ranked system way too complicated with formulas that don't work.
