Elton John Concert in Baton Rouge

I haven't seen any threads tonight, but I wanted to say it was an amazing performance. I swear his vocals and instruments sounded as if it was playing off a CD. He had the entire building rock'n rollin the entire time. Open stage, not a bad seat in the house. I was able to walk down literally 25 feet from the stage without anybody telling me a word the entire concert.

It was a great concert. Greatly enjoyed it and was cool to see every age group in attendance. It made me think who will people my age,25, be watching in concert 30 years from now that all age groups will enjoy. Sadly I have not been able to think of anybody

This was the most amazing thing to me. He sounds no different than he did 40 years ago. Well worth the price of admission.

Exactly what I was coming in here to say. Plus, every note the band played was dead-nuts perfect. Helluva show...

Heading to Biloxi for the show tonight, I've seen him a few times and the only time I was a little disappointed in his performance was on the Face to Face tour back in 2010, but Billy Joel knocked it out of the park so I walked away satisfied overall.

So, George Michael is no slouch in the vocals department... then Elton comes in, blows him away, and it makes one realize that he, Elton, has one of the greatest and most underappreciated singing voices in pop/rock:

And, oh, by the way... it's SIR Elton John, and for very good reason.

I was hoping to hear this. Elton John is one of my favorite old school singers ever. I need to make sure I go see him live next time he's in the area.

The only concerts I go to these days are EJ or Billy Joel. While my focus has narrowed, I go for quality over quantity.

Dude's got a fantastic set of pipes. He's been making great music for over 40 years.

I have no idea what some of those tickets were going for but $110 a ticket was a steal.

I'm going tonight in Mississippi. Who opened for him in Baton Rouge?
