It's a tough choice, no doubt. While a stud LT for Drew would be nice, it would cost big $$. QB, LT, DE are usually the highest paid players. While I'd love to have a top of the line LT, I simply think we need defense too much right now. IMO, one LT won't change the offense that much, if at all. One elite pass rusher could totally revamp the defense. Using a first round pick on either is a risk but I'd rather take the risk on defense.

I'm totally against taking an OL in the first round, HOWEVER, if we were to somehow trade down in to the low 20s and a highly graded tackle slipped to us, I break as many items as if we traded for/drafted one at 15. Assming we pick up a 2nd rounder obviously.

Honestly, if we had any QB other than Drew, I probably wouldn't mind as much taking a LT or even with the trade you proposed. But Drew is the best in the league at feeling pressure and getting rid of the ball quickly. Even with medicore play at LT he didn't take a ton of hits.

If Jones/Mingo/Jordan were somehow at 15 and we took a tackle.....I may throw a brick thru my window.
