Now this is something I was thinking about. When I would move the mouse to a different port it would say the device installation failed and the USB device wasn't recognized.

FYI, if you would install the software that came with your Logitech Keyboard it will recognize other Logitech devices usually. Especially if they are G series. It will also keep your drivers updated and allow you to easily program the macros on your KB and Mouse.

Also have you googled the problem? I had an issue with a logitech kb/m setup and it turns out another driver I had installed was conflicting with it and it was a common problem.
