I have received the holy grail of warnings... being let off the hook by a state trooper.

On 54 miles of Texas highway which happens to be a toll road specifically engineered for that speed (part is 85 mph now). So for that stretch of road TDOT has determined that reaction times are better there.

Well much of I-10 is 75, and I was told it's also at 80 west of San Antonio.

I took SH-130 and did 90 the whole time in the slow lane, it was lovely. Great road.

But much of regular I-10 was 75 coming in.
Not that much of a stretch to think it goes up a measly 5mph in areas.

Uhhhhh, you can't tell when one of your headlights are out?

The day I got my license I got pulled over for speeding coming back from the DMV.

He said "Do you know how fast you were going?"

My response was "the same speed you were officer."

I was an idiot when I was 16 but I only got a warning for that somehow

Got a ticket "running a red light because my car crossed the white line" 5:30 am with no traffic. Light turned yellow, then quickly red. Road was wet. Instead of slamming on the brakes, stopped slightly over the white line. Cop gives me a ticket telling me to tell it to the judge. Never crossed the intersection. Bull shite mickey mouse ticket.

That was supposed to say tail light. For some reason I kept typing headlight.

But even still, what if your headlight burned out while you were driving? It would be dumb for a cop to ticket you for it if that happened.

Pulled over 4 times, received 2 tickets. I was also involved in a single car accident and did not receive a ticket. So 3/5 times I've gotten out of a ticket. The two I got were in speed trap places (St Landry parish I49, and Georgetown coming back from Monroe).

The last time I was “pulled over” was for a flat tire. A policeman stopped and helped me change the tire. The air pressure was low in the spare. He told me how to get to the nearest gas station and then followed me until I got to that exit. This is just one reason why I am befuddled at a lot of people’s disdain for the police.

Warning 20%of the time. I just accept the ticket. I have a special friend that can fix anything.

This thread is crazy! I never realized that people were given warnings so often.

I got a warning once about 15 years ago, which was cool because I was getting pulled over a few times back then for no real reason and getting my plates run a lot for no reason.

I also had two speeding tickets where the cops lied, but luckily I was able to fight one of them and win.

The last 5 times I have been pulled over I have been let go. I have no idea how or why and yes I just knocked on wood!

Was it for speeding and if so how much were you over?

This may just be a coincidence, but a friend of mine (who is a police officer) told me to do the following when pulled over and you would find yourself getting warnings more often than not:

1. Don't be an idiot when picking a spot to pull over. If there's no immediate safe place to pull over, cops don't mind trailing a bit until a safe location is found.
2. Once stopped, TURN OFF ENGINE and wait for officer to approach with both hands on the wheel.
3. When officer approaches window, then open window and follow instructions to get license and registration.

Since I've started doing this, I've gotten pulled over 3 times. Received warnings for all.

Isn't that what you're supposed to do anyway?

I've gotten out of 5 or 6 tickets because of the script A sticker on the back glass of the pickup. Bama fans get a pass from Destin to Pascagoula on I-10.
I usually tell the cops about a "bad arse white linebacker from Citronelle coming in the fall". I usually get the "he ain't as good as Lee Roy Jordan!"
"Lee Roy says the boy is better than he was"
Giddy as a 10 year old-they usually have a weird gait to them. A little prouder, waiting on that linebacker.
