Every player should take their time and come back when they are physically and mentally capable of doing so.

However, it does seem a bit ridiculous that he's been cleared to play (right?) for awhile now and isn't playing.

he has been declared physically 100%. theres a huge mental hurdle involved.

He's been practicing and scrimmaging 5-on-5 for over a month now.

I cut him slack because of my personal history with knee injuries.

I got accused of mental weakness when I told everyone that my knee was NOT all right despite the therapists clearing me. Turns out the injury was misdiagnosed and required a 'scope to remove the meniscus obstructing the joint, but people were very reluctant to admit they were wrong about me.
