Was talking to a buddy about the Tournament Sunday evening and we both mentioned how we felt like we watched it more this year than in the past, particularly the second round (third round).
Sure there were a few blowouts but there were just enough almost upsets and close games to keep you drawn in, just a great first weekend and I guess I wasn't the only one to feel that way.

I think it helped tremendously that the games started on Friday. It seems like it started mid-week in previous years.

I actually was able to go home and catch a lot of the games whereas in previous years I had to stream it from my computer at work during the middle of the work-day.

Definitely started on Thursday, but the games do tend to start a little bit later in the afternoon now as opposed to having four games starting between 11-12 central time in the past.

You're correct. I was mistaken.

An increase in gambling interest helps - as does every game being on TV.

That's because of the CBS/Turner deal. Now every game gets fully televised, instead of regional and wrap-around coverage.

Florida fans think it's a one team tournament.

derpa derpa.....

I think what you are referring to is when Turner got involved a few years ago and they started broadcasting all 68 games on TBS, TNT and TruTV

Before then, there were usually four games around noon, four around 2-3, a long break when CBS has the nightly news, then four more around 6 and the nightcap around 8-9. They staggered them by about 10-20 minutes and cut in when necessary.

Now with the current format, they are spread out so basically a game is going on at all times from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

I watched at least 10 minutes of every single game. I didn't do anything but watch anything but college basketball from 11 Thursday morning until the last game ended Sunday night. Probably the first time I've ever done that.

Why are you so worried about the Florida fans?

Same here. It was awesome. My wife was watching her recorded TV shows all night last night and when I mentioned something about possibly playing my PS3 she said "I let you watch basketball literally all weekend." I didn't even argue, she was right.
