Appalachian State and Georgia Southern have been battling in the Southern Conference on the FCS level for years now, but it seems the two programs will be taking their rivalry up another level.

According to multiple reports, both Appalachian State and Georgia Southern will be joining the Sun Belt Conference for the 2015 seasons. The Winston-Salem Journal originally reported on Appalachian State's move and SB Nation reported on Georgia Southern's.

Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson would not confirm the reports when contacted by CBSSports.com.

Full story.

Solid additions. They lost some good programs and add a couple of up-and-comers.

Southern needs some extensive renovations done to their stadium.

App State's looks great though.

I love App State's stadium, kind of situated into the side of a mountain. It looks really nice in person.

They have a very passionate fanbase in North Carolina. They LOVE college football. They'll pack that place for Sun Belt games.

Is GaSouthern one of the triple option teams? I know the SoCon had like 3 of them.

Went there for a GSU game a few years ago and was truly shocked that was an FCS stadium, really nice.

I laughed at first but looking at their gameday pics, this could be a good move for all involved.
