Bayou desallemands is wide as hell. Won't have to worry about the skinny marsh canals

I was mostly concerned with depth and hidden hazards like debris and crab traps. In most NELA waterways once you get out away from the bank the water gets double digit deep, here you can be two hundred yards from shore and still only have a couple feet of water. Are there any areas that are hazardous to run in. I also usually run at slowest planing speed when in unfamiliar water is this safest practice or should I slow down even though the boat sits deeper in water?
