It's a love or hate. I hate. Some people love.

Not the cleanest place in the world and prepare for relaxed/slow service but I'm sure I ordered the wrong thing if so many people love it.

It can be, or it can be a pork cutlet.

I like Wienerschnitzel ala Holstein. Pound the daylights out of a veal cutlet with a meat hammer. Dredge it in flour, then an egg wash and then Italian bread crumbs. Saute the veal until browned. Top it with a medium fried egg, capers and an anchovy. Have red cabbage and spaetzle (SP?) on the side.

Yeah, I posted above that that's what I'd probably order. Not sure if they serve it w/ the cabbage and spaetzle, though.

I've learned to not want to kick lazy euro arse when in Europe.

Many places are attentive. That´s like a European saying poor service in Alaska is endemic of the entire USA.

I've been to Europe a multitude of times. The service is always ........very euro. I embrace it now.

I live there. Unless you´re comparing service to a QSR, I don´t get your intent.

ETA I´m now in the grand USA, but I know what goes on, I mean to say.

I don't know what QSR is.......but euro service is definitely less attentive than in the us. I'm not judging.......anymore. But it is an adjustment an American has to make........where do you live? I would love to live over there in spite of the service.

Quick Service Restaurant

I´m suffering Atlanta right now.

I live in Northern Spain, and have spent thirty plus years in Western Europe, and enjoyed sporadic activity in Eastern Europe.

I get what you´re saying, and it´s probably due to a poor experience in Florence, Italy, if I may be so bold, but it´s like you said, it´s something you get used to.

Also, where one is from, or perceived to be, has alot to do with the attention, apart from the language, obviously.

Oh I understand this. But not Florence. We go everywhere. Stockholm, Tallin, Copenhagen, Belgium, Berlin, Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia.............it's just a different service culture. It always takes me a couple of days to adjust to it.
