Consider me firmly on the McLemore or bust bandwagon now

shite we should really consider trading the pick and try and get a proven NBA player

The talent in college basketball is garbage this year

He and Oladipo are kind of the same to me.

I honestly want to just take the chance on Smart right now. He sounds like he could be a very good player if he develops a jumpshot. He has the athleticism and size.

Yeah, true. I just want to draft potential this year since the actual talent isn't really there.

There are no perennial 25 ppg scorers, all stars in this draft - Maybe Noel ends up as a better shot blocking version of Noah - but there are still some good players in this draft. I would not trade a top-5 pick for some other teams disappointing, young, veteran players.

The wizards tried that a few years ago and it bit them in the arse.

It worked out for the Celtics and Ray Allen. I definitely would look into it for te right player.

To me it's like this:

-For sure all-pro type player:

McLemore

-For sure solid starter:

Zeller, Noel (pre-injury)

-Could be solid starter, could be total bust:

Porter, Muhammed, Smart

-Meh, no thanks:

Bennett, Len, Olapido

That was adding a veteran nearing the end of the prime of his career.

With a 19-year-old rookie as your star player, do you really want to add a guy who is near the end of his career?

FIFY
There is no bust factor with Porter but his ceiling isn't very high. Noel will be a double-double guy in the league with great defense(I love the Noah comparison).

I think we sit back and try and get a FA SF

There are solid centers in this draft, and we could use one

Imagine if Noel and Davis both hit their talent ceiling and stick around NOLA for many years

My god that would be an insane front court

Both will be good to great defenders in the league but neither will be great offensive options.

Don't think there's any way Shabazz is a bust but I don't see him as an all-star and probably closer to OJ Mayo level.
