After a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday, a frustrated Feinstein said she learned that the bill she sponsored — which bans 157 different models of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines — wouldn’t be part of a Democratic gun bill to be offered on the Senate floor. Instead, it can be offered as an amendment. But its exclusion from the package makes what was already an uphill battle an almost certain defeat.

Not a total victory but a victory nonetheless.

Universal Background checks and limit magazine capacity are the main two focal points IIRC

From the article and what I've been reading, the Dems at the minimum want universal background checks, a the "weapons trafficking" provision, which would essentially end private party transactions.

Anything but a Total Victory on this issue is an assault on liberty and the future of the rights of the citizenry as represented in the Bill of Rights...

They are trying to incrementally destroy the Constitution....one law at a time.

I agree wholeheartedly, and while the fact that it can be used as an amendment later on is troubling, at least they had the sense to know that this wasn't going to fly. I'd hate to see what would be happening if elections had just taken place.

Now is not the time to relax. I encourage everyone to contact their senators.

She was frustrated because Ted Cruiz made her look like a jackass in the committee hearing and the video vent viral exposing her for the moron she is.

Frankly I think the reason it was dropped was to get some of the heat off of the bill. They think gun owners will relax on the bill now that the assault weapons ban is out of it... the universal background checks and magazine limits are what they really want. Hell even Obama's letter said such

Any ban on high capacity magazine is a major blow. Ask the rural upstate part of New York. Over half of the handguns we talk about everyday here cant be owned in New York. They hold more than 7 rounds. This is their new way of eliminating guns without coming out and saying what they are doing. Frick them all!

kige x1000

I've been sayin this for awhile. What you have now is a bill that may very well pass, but put miles of red tape into buying ANY gun, all while guns get passed around on the street.

They offered to buy the farm just so it wouldn't look strange to buy the horse.

Now maybe the people buying up all the ARs will stop. I don't see how they can keep on at the current prices and demand.

I WANT AN AR 10 DAMNIT!
