Probably because of his size, Junius didn't get much press. He proved to be too fragile for the RB position (really for any position at LSU, he was hurt his freshman year and never really panned out) which he played in high school. In his junior and senior year in HS he led the state in rushing (I have no way to verify that via the web). In his junior year (1979) that means he out gained Johnny Hector and his senior year he out gained (barely) Billy Cannon Jr. Interestingly enough, if my memory serves me correctly, both Hector and Cannon snubbed LSU for aTm.

Never heard anybody call hi "urnge", I'm assuming that was a feeble attempt at racist humor.

That would be correct.

Junuis had the nickname Pim since his day at Judice. 1978 as a Jr he did out rush Hector. And he was hurt in the NISH game and missed a game or 2.
Not sure if he didn't miss a game in 79.
Number 33 will always be remembered as Acadianas 1st great Veer runningback. Aaron Cluse was the 1st good one. Junuis started a good run of great ones.
