You're right why build for the future. Let's just keep adding to our offense and watch the worst defense in the NFL get worse and worse but who cares Sedrick Ellis and Malcolm Jenkins didn't work out so let's never draft a defensive in first round ever again, because we all know how well our first round offensive players have panned out. Either you're being obtuse or you don't get it.
My point was just because you pick a Defender in the first round, doesn't mean our Defense is going to improve.
You can't think that one dimensionally in the draft.
Yes, I would MUCH prefer to draft Defense. I want a pass rusher. BUT...I'm not going to dismiss Offensive improvements completely.
