Not buying it. We are getting bigger because we eat more and exercise less. that's it.
Look at a "large" drink from the 80's and look at one now. When I was very youg, an 8 oz coke bottle was what you got at the store. Then it was a 12 oz can or a 16 oz, no it is a 20 oz or a liter.
Kids just don't go outside as much anymore, and it is the parents fault also.

Don't forget fear of lawsuits. We were up to 20 kids from ages 7-12 play on vacant lots with no supervision back in the 50s. If that happened today and a kid got hurt there would be a lawsuit on the owner of the vacant lot.
