Wasnt there a bunch of shite BTTF2 got right though?

Also, I don't think that Sci-Fi writers are all that prescient. They're creative people that come up with cool ideas, and then a bunch of nerds start working on ways to make them a reality. They're not necessarily predicting what will be invented, but giving people ideas to start working on.

The only thing that's jumping out is the wall TV, instant news and the love of 80's nostalgia. Everything else seems like it's not going to pan out in time.

And I guess Elvis Dumervil's agent recently got a "You're fired!" fax.

You're spot on with this. Star Trek didn't predict flip phones, flip phones were created because Star Trek communicators opened that way. More often than not, modern technology is inspired by and modeled after some previous science fiction creation.
