Shimano curado repair

So I'm leaving for Toledo in the AM and was getting my shite together. Pulled out one of my older Curados to spool it up and it feels like someone took a big shite in it. Hard to reel.
Anyone had any luck sending these things somewhere to get them cleaned/repaired?

Lake Charles tackle cleaned one of my curados a couple years ago. It was like fishing with a brand new reel when I got it back.

Just dunk it in the lake a few times tomorrow morning.
But seriously, it probably just needs to be taken apart, sprayed down with lube, and reassembled in the exact opposite order in which it came apart. I enjoy tinkering with them and seeing how they work...

That's always been my problem with doing it myself

I had the bearings in mine replaced at Superior in BR for about $60

I got them to clean two Curados and a Citica for me a couple months ago and it was the same thing. All felt like new reels.

Emory Belton in Houma can do them blindfolded.

I've got an old one too an was trying to decide if it was worth spending money on. It is in bad shape.

Professional Sport Shop in NOLA is an authorized Shimano service center. Reels usually run around 40$.

I ended up just ordering them from Boca, the prices were the same.

Bring it to Toledo, cross Pendelton Bridge to the Texas side, cross Carrice Creek bridge then look for the sign that says Adco Rod and Reel repair. Lee will do you a great job but you will have to leave it with him for a few days. That gives you an excuse to make another trip to Toledo!!

I just ordered some for a calcutta to test out. Do they really make that big of a difference?

Better distance, great for pitching and no corrosion. I'm going to put them in my old silver calcuttas I use when I wade fish. Never think about them when I go to replace the bearings, but I fished with a guy in Rockport that had them in his reels and they were smooth as silk.
